soffa – #24
issue 24 of Czech magazine SOFFA honours the centenary of the founding of Czechoslovakia. that history of the republic and its culture is explored through a series of photographic features, including one on the objects of cultural personalities in Czech history, and another on modern architecture that “attest to monumental times in Czech history”. elsewhere there are features on glassmakers; a tour of Czech town, Zlín; and a traditional Czech dance school. beautiful photography in this issue and lots to learn.
water – #4
issue 4 of Water Journal is the first issue that we’ve included in MagShuffle and it’s a photographic feast. there’s some excellent inclusions in this issue including a trip through the highlands of Scotland, with photographs of the rich colours of the landscape and remote cottages dwarfed by mountains; a photo project inspired by the paintings of J.M.W. Turner; the colours of urban Cuba; octopus fishing in Spain; and hermit and sculptor Manfred Gnadinger and the sculptures he left behind in Camelle, Spain. it’s a thing of beauty.
