orlando is an annual magazine focusing on the visual arts and intersections with cultural criticism and sociopolitics. motivated by introducing rising voices in addition to the established, it is experimental in tone and format, offering a non-binary, fluid perspective on the world.

another new magazine to enter the MagShuffle roster is Orlando, whose print publications have progressively challenged some trite perspectives about gender, sexuality and identity. The newly released third edition takes ‘beyond the body’ as its theme and asks how we transform ourselves, lose ourselves, or how are we kept back, limited, or marginalised – both because of and in spite of our bodies. In the edition, Aimée Bea Ballinger looks at artistic impressions of the bodies of the dead and the near dead; there are series of portraits of pan gender performance artist, Rose Wood; and other photography, poetry, essays and interviews about dance, art and much more.
